Umm yea… so I negatively obliterated my previous time, but all is now said and done… I’m about to search for another 5k to do in May, in an attempt to actually break 30.

In other news the scale gods have returned from their vacay and my scale this morning said 167.3 (wahoo!). I don’t think I’ll lose any weight in tomorrow’s weigh in, but at least I won’t have gained a billion pounds.

I often go through these bursts of:

  •  “omigod-I’m-actually-going-to-lose-the-weight-and-it’s-not-that-hard-I-just-have-to-always-make-good-decisions,-this-is-so-exciting!”

or

  • “fuck-balls-shit-this-is-so-hard-i’m-never-going-to-be-able-to-do-this,-what-was-I-thinking?

Currently? I’m in the former mindset, which means I’m in a great, motivated mood, despite my super-soaked pants because it’s pouring rain outside and (holla!) my pants are sitting below my hips bones.  I was also too cheap to pay for the tram, which I think may or may not have been a bad life decision.

Things I learnt today:

  • Running in freezing, pouring rain?  Sucks.
  • Running uphill?  Sucks.
  • Running with no music, due to leaving my iPod at home? Sucks.
  • Running alone? Sucks
  • Eating two free protein bars, then realizing they’re “meal replacements”? Sucks
  • Going shopping and realizing you’re still “L”? Sucks

On a scale of 1 to awesome, my run was mediocre.  It was absolutely freezing, and I was drenched (including my shoes) to the bone.  I didn’t stop once (1st part of my goal), but slowed to a jog that may or may not have been slower than a walk.

My time? I don’t know yet!! I didn’t see the clock at the finish line, so I’ll have to wait for it to be posted online. My guesstimate would be about 35 minutes… umm yea… that is SLOWER than my previous 5k (last November)!!  Once the results are posted I’ll make a post… good, bad or ugly.

I also just weighed myself and the scale said 170! WTF! So… yea… apparently I’ve gained a ridiculous amount of weight since Wednesday and slowed down.  Perhaps there is seriously something to be said for NO ALCOHOL WHEN TRYING TO LOSE WEIGHT.

I’m off to make a chicken salad then GG, duh.

Happy? Sunday Night.

I tend not to blog about my physical activity each day because I am L to the Azy. Lazy, and therefore embarrassed by my exercise routine, or lack thereof. All my weight loss so far has 100% been because of my food… yarrrr, so there’s that.
I should mention I go through phases in life, such as staying late at work, rising early, sleeping in, dieting, eating candy, buying lottery tickets, wearing heels, wearing flats, curling my hair, straightening my hair and exercise? yea… about that.. it’s never been a phase.
I know this needs to change; although weight loss is mostly food, I know the benefits are huge to actually moving my butt every now n’ again.  I’ve signed up for a 5k April 27th and have made it a goal to run a half marathon by my 27th birthday.
So there you have it. I’m really going to try and get my ass into motion and you guys will most likely hear all about it.  I’m also trying to work on my ‘phase’ issues by learning that eating right and staying active is a lifestyle NOT A PHASE!! (Yes, capitals and boldness were needed as I have to yell that to myself constantly)
If you read this far I applaud you.

My friend Veronica just emailed me:
2:22pm
“BTW, do you want to sign up for a 5k in the spring? I know torey wants to do one too. [Redacted] hospital run is a good one. Torey and I did it last year, it’s like april 27th or something this year. Lots of time to train Let me know!”
To which I responded:
2:34pm“In regards to the 5k run….. I’m nervous, I donno… it really scares me. I’m not sure. I’ll let you know”
2:37pmYes yes and yes!!  I don’t think I could handle anything more than 5k, gah! I’m already SO SCARED.”

OMIGOD OMIGOD OMIGOD. I can’t believe  I just did that. So apparently I’m going to start running.  I ran/walked a charity 5k last October and my time was around 52 minutes, thus my goal will be to beat that.
For all you Americans out there 5k = about 3.1miles (I think)
