Check it, yo! My inner fashionista matched yesterday’s running attire to my work outfit. She’s a baller like that.

SO.. becuase of an awesome groupon deal I found, I purchased my first ever running skirt.  It’s super cute, pleated at the back, and I was all sorts of excited to run in it…

Hypothesis: I’ll look super, cute and stylish running in a skirt, and will hopefully use it as my marathon bottons.

The Test: Regular Tempo Tuesday 6k Run

Conclusion: Running skirts are ONLY made for skinny people.  The built in shorts were (earmuffs kids) up my ass within 3.2 seconds of running, and I’m nearly certain the skirt part on the back wasn’t long enough to cover my ass-ets. I also think anyone behind me could see my thighs jiggling and rubbing together - which obviously would not have been an attractive sight. It was the most self conscious run of my lifeeeeee. I felt like I was in underwear.

Results: FAIL. Maybe with another 20 pounds off my ass I’ll do it again, because if it wasn’t for BodyGlide, I think my thighs would have rubbed raw. (TMI? Deal.)

  3. megwhat said: so super jelly of your hair. mine is so fine and bleh that when I go to fancy things I have to tease the SHITE out of it to get it to look like more than just a cherry-sized bun :( grass is always greener I guess…

  5. runstaceyrun said: Try runningskirts.com. They are worth it, and they don’t creap. If they creap, you didn’t get the right size. I promise. I tried a running skirt, and hated it. But once I found the right size/brand…I won’t run in anything else.

  7. falllingforward said: agreed. super cute but does not prevent chub rub. speaking from my own experience of course.
  8. emmerunswithit said: I LOVE running skirts, but I ALWAYS wear compression tights/shorts/capris underneath them so I don’t start a fire.
  9. therevickigoesagain said: HA!! i agree with you on the running skort thing…the only time i wear one is if i have running tights under it.
  10. icz said: I have always been overweight and never called cute! But, I am tall. Short people often don’t like to be called cute either.
