Holla homies.
- Okay, before I get into the shindigs of my day, let’s chitty-chat about that awful bug/virus/evil-thing-from-Satan. Y'know the one? the one that sent my mind into a whirlwind of, this is it! I am going to die and my body will be sent back to Canada in a wooden box and they’ll never know what it was and OHMYGOD you guys, I am dying. (I’m a drama Queen like that). But when I rocked up to the doctor on Monday the man just told me, all calm and suave, I had a really (really!!) bad stomach bug. I can’t even begin to explain the pain I felt over the weekend so let me just tell you, I am not looking forward to child labour, nope, not one bit if the cramps get worse than that.
ANYWHO,
- Did you lose weight while being a sicky? <– You. Why yes. Yes I did. 6.8 fake, glorious, pounds (or, less impressively sounding, 3.1kg). But sadly (and predictably) I’m already up 3 of those pounds from consuming gallons and gallons of water today. When I was a kid I used to wish I would get “sooooooo sick,” so sick in fact that I wouldn’t be able to eat for a long period of time, and thus lose weight. (Ronnie and Michelle’s high school reunion. Anyone? Anyone?). Anywho, I’m smarter than that now as being sick is the worst. The worst people, The Worst! And oh-so-very-not worth any form of weight loss.
- So… the Half marathon is in 19 days. Ummm oh-no, don’t mind me, I’m not freaking out at all, AT ALL. The worst part about being sick (besides the whole no-family-here, missing-work-and-therefore-money, and the extreme-pain thing) was missing my planned 15k run. This makes me awfully nervy for the big day on October 14th.
- I am going to Perth on Sunday! I am going to Perth on Sunday! I am going to Perth on Sunday! Oh happiness all around.
- I wasn’t going to post the above bod-ay photo as I thought I looked, umm shall we go with… solid? but I’m in a good mood, so figured why not. I went to The Crossfit this evening and took it easy-peasy, didn’t want to push myself too much, so essentially what I’m telling you is I did weights tonight.
- Spring has sprung in Melbourne!
- I uploaded 200 photos to The Facebook last night in an album called “1 Year.” My favourite ones from the past year. It was depressing as ever seeing how skinny I once was, but totally worth posting it because my friend Val (hi Val!) sent me the loveliest message ever, “ANYONE can have a FB album of wedding pics… But it takes someone truly brave and awesome to have an album of an amazing year traveling abroad alone. You’ll have your wedding (babies house etc.. ) TOO whereas those people will never experience the journey you have. I for one am super jealous/ impressed." That really was so nice to receive as I’m kinda, sora worried about that - thanks again Val. xo
- I got an anonymous message today asking me how Matt and I met. Here’s the story of how Matt met the coolest girl he will ever know :)
- See that dinner above? My chicken, onion, cauliflower, broccoli, curry? Yea, well that was aiming way too high for my stomach. Totally had to tupperware that for another day - it appears I am only eating bread and crackers still.
- And last, but not least, My Fitness Pal is working really well for me. Like, I actually look forward to tracking what I eat and logging in and seeing how others are doing. I’m amazed at how many people are as cray-cray as me and also obsess over food.
